About Me

As a true lover of research, I approach gardening with an experimental attitude versus striving for perfection. I like to apply my professional agronomy knowledge with ecological concepts while keeping economic sustainability in mind. I believe that every garden is different, therefore it takes time and observation to see what exactly fits. Although I’ve had my hands in the soil since before I can remember, I am constantly re-enamored by its complexity and beauty.

With two degrees from NC State, a bachelor’s in Agroecology and a Master’s in Crop Science, I have a wide understanding of both small scale regenerative practices and large scale efficiencies in the southeast. I take pieces of both, as well as previous work experiences with me into the garden. Not only do I strive for substantial yields with edible crops, I find it just as important to craft healthy soil and a supportive multi-seasonal garden to support beneficial insects and wildlife.

Ultimately, I am passionate about educating people on agricultural topics from policy to soil structure and simultaneously deconstructing barriers to that knowledge. Hence, why I started a Substack to gab about my passions.
